New version of memoQ

With version 5 of memoQ, the Hungarian software company Kilgray provides functions intended to make handling translations easier. For example, changes can now be tracked more clearly. In addition, the new version of the translation application comes with an improved terminology management. What does the new version offer for translating technical documentation?

New version of memoQ

The memoQ application helps translators while translating their complex assignments. For this purpose, the system has a translation memory, a terminology database, and a translation editor in addition to quality assurance tools, communication and data exchange. Applications like memoQ show their strengths especially in case of translations having a high degree of repetition.

Version 5 offers some new project management functions and is therefore of interest not only to translators. The improvements include:

  • Tracking changes between the source documents
  • Tracking changes in one translation document
  • Terminology extraction with comparison with an existing termbase
  • Automated querying of a folder for processing projects with many updates easily
  • File-based pre-translation of the updated version of a file by automatically locking the existing translations (X-Translate)
